This stew I cook for ages. The recipe I had spotted in a Turkish cookbook and love it. Same old, same old: Easy to prepare and perfect to make ahead anyway. That is why I prepare a large pot. You can halve the recipe as well.
If you have really tasty fresh tomatoes at hand, I recommend to use them. I did in Istanbul because tomatoes were very delicious!
White Beans with Sun-Dried Tomatoes and Rosemary
It is a very tasty dish. Mostly I use oil-packed sun-dried tomatoes. They come with a lot of flavor what makes this dish more tasty. I like to serve it with lamb for lunch; but there is no need for it.
Lentil Soup
I like this lentil soup because it is extremely easy to make with only few ingredients and little time. As I enjoy this soup in the morning, I prepare it the evening before. To enrich this soup just add some meat as described in “notes”.
Red and Yellow Lentil Soup
Here comes a very easy soup, nonetheless tasty. The ingredients are simple, thus usually they are always available at my house. So when the weather turns cold… I cook a lentil soup.
Lentil-Bulgur-Soup with Lamb
I like to cook this dish a day before serving. Because it is plenty of soup I enjoy it a couple of days. Served hot in winter and slightly cooled in summer, I prefer it for breakfast.
Moroccan Meatball Soup
I do like if the house smells from this soup. This combination of sweet potato, spices and meatballs is very delicious. I myself prefer to eat it in the morning. Of course I do not refuse a bowl of this soup at lunch.
Black Bean Soup with Almonds
Well, black beans do not prettify dishes if we talk about the color. But it doesn’t bother me in this case as I like this soup very much for breakfast. Indeed, for breakfast.
Curried Chickpeas
For me nothing is wrong with a spicy breakfast. This chickpeas with curry served with some chilled yogurt are a breakfast as I like it. I do not miss a thing.
Sweet Potato Soup
The sweetness combined with a little spiciness is very tasty here. As I prefer to freeze soups for storing I always cook the whole quantity.
Pumpkin Soup with Coconut Milk and Ginger
Pumpkin in season… various shapes, colors and ways to prep. Of course I serve a pumpkin soup! Again: easy to make ahead and to freeze.
Roast Beef
Right after I cooked and tasted this roastbeef, I decided that this is one of my favorites. It is that yummy! Easy to cook, and not time-consuming. And it smells! Unbelievable. Well, it is obvious I am a huge fan of meat.
Eggs Something Different
Even the egg does not have to have the same look every day. These egg muffins will be a nice variation on your plate. Of course you can use other molds, too.
Chickpea Carrot Breakfast Balls
Something new for breakfast! I bake these in advance and store them up to two or three days in the fridge. Just rewarm them in a pan before serving.
Pumpkin Bread
For me it is more a cake instead of a bread. Nonetheless I do like it for breakfast from time to time. It comes with less gluten. Who needs to avoid it completely replace the spelt flour with a gluten free alternative and choose a gluten free baking powder.
Breakfast Coconut Cookies
From time to time to have a cookie for breakfast is something special and delicious to me. They are gluten-free. But they easily become dry. With three eggs I am pretty happy. Feel free to add more! Re-warm these cookies the next day or just freeze them to enjoy another day.
