This is one of my “making use of leftovers”-recipes. Approach: Search the fridge, grab what I get and just try to cook something tasty. Outcome: tasty or not tasty. This one I labelled with “tasty”.
Enjoying delicious food. Best without regrets and easy to cook. That is what I am looking for every single day.
If you eat the LOGI way or Paleo or you just prefer a moderate intake of carbohydrates and/or healthier choices of carbs, here you will certainly find something suitable, too. (Who will not give up on potatoes, noodles, etc. simply add those.)
I certainly will not forget to fill "Baking" as well as "Treat and Nibble" with recipes!
As I avoid carbs from e.g. legumes and rice at dinner and also grains in the morning, maybe the category "Breakfast" will offer you surprising options.
Note:
Usually my recipes are made for two. (Leftovers will be eaten later.) I use almost exclusively top and bottom heat for the preparation in the oven.
Warming Almond-Turmeric-Drink
I enjoy this drink preferably on cold days. Only a few ingredients required, the drink will be quickly prepared and will smell lovely. So if the weather will not fit for outdoor activities, stay at home on your couch just sipping this warming drink.
Homemade Jerky
For what reason homemade? Take a look at the ingredient list next time at the supermarket. Then you will know why. I just like to know, what is in my food respectively I try to keep ingredients out of my nutrition that are barely spellable.
Chocolate-Coated Strawberries
Well, strawberries are delicious. Chocolate is delicious, too. But strawberries plus chocolate… this is incredibly delicious! It is fun to coat fruits with chocolate. And before you know it… you will enjoy your treat.
Warm White Bean Salad with Carrots and Bell Pepper
A tasty breakfast. Additionally it will lighten even a grey morning because of the bright color. This salad is quickly cooked. Lightly cooled it is perfect on warm summer days, too.
Okra with Cherry Tomatoes and Cashews
Okra… a produce that I didn’t care about for a long time. I knew that they can be really slimy. This was nothing I was interested in. Then I spotted them in Istanbul… and I thought they should be worth a try. Well, I cooked a lot of okra in diverse ways. Mostly not successfully. So I – as well as my husband as he does not like okra anyway – was not so happy more than once. Eventually there was a winner. So I like to cook this recipe from time to time.
Chickpeas and Chicken Salad with Almonds, Apricots, Chives and Yogurt
I always search for recipes for breakfast to exclude bread respectively grains. This dish with chickpeas is just as I like it. I prefer the salad in summer because of the fresh flavor.
Tartlets with Rhubarb and Raspberry
I need to mention that these tartlets are not so “tartlet”. You will be perfectly satisfied with the half of the recipe. Especially in a 2-person household. But if you wanna share those with friends – what is actually a great idea – then go for the entire recipe. You will need a bit more time to bake these tartlets. It’s worth it!

This is one of the many delicious dishes I had in Barcelona. Only a few ingredients can be so tasty! Besides, it is working as a main dish as well as a side. So I have diverse options with this recipe. And that I do appreciate.

Soups are one of my favorites. Why? Because there is no time-consuming preparation, they are easily made ahead, usually there is no problem with freezing or storing for a while in the fridge. And this soup is prepared quickly!
