Apparently I was quite ambitious to choose recipes and mark with post-its. Well, there is a lot to cook and to bake! For me these recipes are mostly in the category “favorite dish”. For this reason they are not always counting as healthy food. Anyway, to thumb through is just a joy and brings quite a good appetite…
“The End of Diabetes” by Joel Fuhrman, M.D.
It is fascinating how changes in diet and lifestyle can really make a difference in health. As I am very interested in prevention of diabetes I found this book among others.
“The Flavour Thesaurus” by Niki Segnit
I spotted this book in Istanbul at the time I began to cook. It helped me a lot and encouraged me to try something different. Even it is not a classically cookbook it is really a pleasure to read it. I like to thumb through it from time to time – just for inspiration. Only as bedtime reading it is not a good choice for me. Because I always get hungry…
“Chef MD’s Big Book of Culinary Medicine” by John La Puma, M.D.
The author gives a very interesting overview of chosen foods, their nutrients, their effects to the human body and much more information. I like very much the hints about how to use a food to get most out of it. You will find recipes, too. This book is a pleasure!

A revealing book that is as always written very understandable. My conclusion: I’ll stick to the plan with a moderate intake of carbohydrates. (Only available in German.)
“Cooking School” by Martha Stewart
That is so my book! Needless to say. Although I always find answers at MarthaStewart.com. However, it is a great book and sometimes I just enjoy to thumb through it. I never miss a thing here and it includes a lot of illustrative photos. So it is really easy to cook and learn with.
